Alert! Fake wedding card on WhatsApp

Wedding season has started. Many people gets wedding card on WhatsApp. Do you know, Cyber fraud has not left even this? They are doing scams with the help of wedding cards. Now a days those who can’t come home for invitation for wedding. They send it through WhatsApp.

Cyber frauds are sending APK files in the name of invitation card through WhatsApp. And then they do scams and emptied your bank account. Experts says that normally people open APK files by mistake and then they get auto install in device.

Access in phone

After the APK files are auto installed. All the access of device goes to cyber frauds. After this cyber frauds can read all the messages sent to us. With this all the sensitive information like OTP, Pin Number etc. are available to hackers.

Cyber hackers can create loss

After the access of your device go to hackers. They can control your device. They can easily do unauthorized transaction and fund transfer from your bank account.

Case came from Bikaner

From Bikaner, a case is been registered of this kind of fraud. A victim Kailash has registered and FIR in cyber police station. He got a wedding invitation card through WhatsApp. When he open that file, he finds that he doesn’t know that person.

Victim got loss of 4.5L

After that victim thought that invitation came by mistake and he left it just like that. After four days victim finds that someone took 4.5L Rupees from his account.

How to keep us safe?

If by mistake you installed APK file then immediately remove it. If you find any suspicious activity in your device then immediately put your internet off. After this freeze your bank account.
